Girls on the Run is Starting Soon!  This program is available to girls in the 3^rd through 5^th Grade.  No running experience required!

We have 15 available slots available!

Inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy & confident

Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development program.  Guided in conversations & running games by trained, volunteer coaches, girls learn life skills, grow in self-confidence, develop as a team and connect to the joy of physical activity.

The culminating event of the program is the Girls on the Run 5K on June 2^nd at Freedom Plaza, which they complete with an adult running buddy. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment for the girls when they realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible.

The program is 12 weeks and we cover 20 lessons.  The team meets twice a week after school starting at 3:30pm.  The season begins the first week in March and ends on June 2^nd at the 5K.

Washington Wizards Essay Competition

Calling all Payne students! If you would like to win one of the 22 free tickets (which includes $10 for concession) to the December 22, 2018 Washington Wizards game this is what you need to do. Write a two-paragraph essay on Why you think kindness and compassion are important in sports?  Winners will be selected and also take a group picture court side.

Essays are due by Friday, December 7^th. Please turn your essays into Mrs. Oxendine.
