For school year 2022-2023 Payne Elementary will offer the Office of Out-of-School Time Programs (OSTP) for after school programming. Students in OSTP after school programs spend their time doing a variety of activities including: academic power hour, eat a healthy snack, outdoor time, arts and crafts, clubs, and outdoor time.

Returning for school year 2022-2023 is Payne Elementary’s Saturday Arts Academy.

Your child is invited to join their classmates at Payne every Saturday morning for classes that complement the instruction they receive during the school day.  Class sizes are limited, and enrollment will be on a first come, first served basis, with a portion of seats reserved for students furthest from opportunity.  Read more here.

Payne provides a variety of after school clubs for all grades including: athletics, dance, STEM activities, yoga and more. A full list of clubs for all grades is located here: Clubs at Payne Elementary (last updated Spring 2019).

2022 Enrichment programming for all of our PK3 through 2nd Grade After School students will be available in Fall 2022. The Fall session will include soccer for PK3 through Second Grade, dance for PK3 through Kindergarten, and tumbling for First and Second Grades. PK3/4 will have enrichment on Mondays and Wednesdays and K through 2nd Grade will have enrichment on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students will be grouped with their regular After School class, and the activities will occur onsite at Payne from 4:00-5:35pm. All students will participate regardless of ability to pay. Please see the attached information on recommended tuition, a waiver form, and a schedule showing class days and times for each grade. We are still working to develop plans for the winter and spring enrichment sessions.

After school is available daily from 3:30-6:00 pm and is managed by the Office of Out-of-School Time Programs (OSTP). There is no after school on days when school is dismissed at 12:15.

Enrollment in after school for school year 2022-2023 is managed by DCPS.  Find more details on the DCPS after school page or at the page for online enrollment. Students must enroll in school prior to enrolling in an after school program.
