PROGRAM INFORMATION

For school year 2024-2025 Payne Elementary will offer the Office of Out-of-School Time Programs (OSTP) for after school programming. Students in OSTP after school programs spend their time doing a variety of activities including: academic power hour, eat a healthy snack, outdoor time, arts and crafts, clubs, and outdoor time.

SATURDAY ARTS ACADEMY

Payne Elementary’s Saturday Arts Academy is the best way to start the weekend, for kids and families across Capitol Hill. 

Kids are invited to join classmates at Payne every Saturday morning for classes that complement the instruction they receive during the school day. Class sizes are limited, and enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. Tuition assistance is available for Payne students. Read more here.

CLUBS

Payne provides a variety of after school clubs for all grades including: athletics, dance, STEM activities, yoga and more. A full list of clubs for all grades is located here: Clubs at Payne Elementary (last updated Spring 2019).

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMING

Enrichment programming for all of our PK3 through 2nd Grade After School students is typically available in Fall and Spring sessions. The session may include soccer, dance, tumbling and more. Students are grouped with their regular After School class, and the activities will occur onsite at Payne from 4:00-5:35pm. All students will participate regardless of ability to pay. Please see the attached information on recommended tuition, a waiver form, and a schedule showing class days and times for each grade. 

SCHEDULE

​​After school is available daily from 3:30-6:00 pm and is managed by the Office of Out-of-School Time Programs (OSTP). There is no after school on days when school is dismissed at 12:15. ​

ENROLLMENT

​Enrollment in after school for school year 2024-2025 is managed by DCPS.  Find more details on the DCPS after school page or at the page for online enrollment. Students must enroll in school prior to enrolling in an after school program.
