First Day of School

A message from PAYNE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Good Afternoon Payne Wildcats,

We are very close to the start of the new school year.

It is with mounting excitement and anticipation that we prepare for the opening of school. Teachers have been deep in study and reflection. New staff have been getting to know the community and I consistently hear the refrain “can’t wait till the kids get here”.

Summer Soiree Scheduled for 7/26/2017

Dear Payne Families,

Former President Barack Obama stated: “The best anti-proverty program is a world class education.” Payne Elementary is a community of learners, where each student’s innate ability to learn is acknowledged and individual genius is cultivated; this is where genius lives.

School year 2017-2018 promisses to be filled with opportunities for students to grow through challenges that encourage them to reach beyond their current abilities; experiences that deepen their wonder and sense of awe; and moments of reflection that afford us all opportunities to marvel at how incredible they are.

This year we look to:

  • Continue to grow together as a school community
  • Set individual learning goals and achieve them
  • Grow a sense of self-efficacy and school pride

We are very fortunate to have a strong cadre of teachers who are spending their summer resting, relaxing, learning, working, reading, studying, traveling, and ensuring that they fortify themselves for the year to come.

Come out and meet teachers and staff new to Payne at our Summer Soiree, held at the school on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 6pm.

Sincerely,

Principal Stephanie Byrd
